Hub: Land acquisition for the Karachi–Quetta Expressway has begun, with local authorities engaging landowners to address compensation and valuation concerns linked to the project.
A meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner Hub Juma Dad Khan Mandokhail was held with landowners from Hub city and Tehsil Winder to discuss matters related to the acquisition of land for the new expressway. The project has been described by officials as one of national importance, expected to improve regional connectivity and support economic activity.
During the session, landowners raised concerns regarding compensation, calling for fair and market-aligned valuation of their properties. In response, the deputy commissioner assured participants that payments would be made transparently in accordance with the government’s prescribed valuation mechanism.

He directed relevant departments to conduct accurate land assessments and submit detailed reports to ensure the process remains transparent and free of irregularities.
Officials said the Karachi–Quetta Expressway is expected to enhance transport efficiency between Sindh and Balochistan, facilitate trade flows, and create employment opportunities for local communities.
The deputy commissioner urged landowners to cooperate with authorities and avoid hindering the execution of the project, emphasising its broader benefits for regional development and the national economy.
