Peshawar: The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government on Friday inaugurated Phase-II of the Civil Quarters housing project in Peshawar, adding 96 residential flats for government employees as part of efforts to improve official accommodation in the provincial capital.
The project was inaugurated by Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi in the Civil Quarters area of Peshawar.
According to officials, the four-storey building has been constructed on a 6.91-kanal site and includes a basement. Each residential unit measures approximately 1,000 square feet, with 24 flats on each floor, bringing the total to 96 apartments. The project was completed at a cost of PKR 886.506 million.

The flats have been equipped with basic utilities and facilities, including electricity, water, gas supply, security arrangements and designated parking. Officials said the housing scheme aims to address long-standing accommodation needs of government employees posted in the provincial capital.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, the chief minister said the provision of proper housing for public servants remained a priority of the provincial government, adding that improved living conditions contribute to better performance and stability within public institutions.
He said the government planned to undertake similar housing schemes in the future as part of broader reforms in the housing and public welfare sectors.

Officials described the project as part of ongoing efforts by the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa government to upgrade infrastructure and improve service conditions for civil servants working in key administrative areas of the province.
