Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday reviewed progress on the reorganization of the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA) and approved the establishment of a Womenpreneurship Platform aimed at encouraging women’s participation in the SME sector.
According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), the Womenpreneurship Platform will be based on artificial intelligence and will serve as a one-stop digital facility for women entrepreneurs. It will provide business-related information, assist in company registrations, offer guidance on taxation, and promote skill development and awareness.
“The steps being taken to enhance women’s participation in SMEs are commendable; awareness regarding this initiative should be increased,” the PMO quoted the prime minister as saying.
