Lahore: The Punjab Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued a province-wide alert after forecasting rain, thunderstorms and strong winds across most districts of Punjab from tonight until May 23. According to the authority, several cities, including Lahore, Sialkot, Narowal and Faisalabad, are likely to receive rainfall during the period.
PDMA Director General Omar Javed said alerts have been issued to commissioners and deputy commissioners across the province to ensure advance arrangements for any emergency situation arising from the expected weather conditions. Authorities have been directed to remain prepared to respond to disruptions caused by thunderstorms and strong winds.

The authority advised citizens to remain indoors during thunderstorms, avoid open areas during lightning, and take precautionary measures for personal safety. Farmers have also been urged to plan agricultural activities in line with the forecast, while tourists travelling to northern areas have been advised to exercise caution.
