Lahore: Chief Minister (CM) Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar has approved a roadways rehabilitation program to start the reconstruction of old and neglected roads in the province, news sources reported. The program will provide relief for the residents of cities and villages by increasing connectivity and smooth traffic flow.
The scheme was approved during a meeting convened by the chief minister to review provincial finances, road building, and other development initiatives. He also reaffirmed his commitment to bringing transparency to budget allocation and expenditure which he claims has already brought a 20% increase in provincial revenue.
Furthermore, Minister Buzdar directed all provincial departments to complete the projects and provide adequate funding for the purpose. He issued instructions to all provincial departments to execute the projects and furnish enough funding as and when required. He further said that the progress of each department’s work would be assessed on a regular basis to ensure that the allocated funds are being used transparently.
