Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has announced its decision to postpone the auction of the Fawara Chowk Car Parking Plaza for an unspecified period of time, a news source reported.
As per the publication, the said event was originally scheduled to take place today (April 9). The RDA spokesperson informed that the decision was taken in the wake of lockdown implemented by the government to control the spread of novel coronavirus.
He further stated that a new date for the auction of the said contract will be announced later when the situation returns to normal.
Previously, in February, the district administration had announced its decision to construct a multi-storey computerised hydraulic parking plaza at the Fawara Chowk. The parking plaza is expected to accommodate 250 motorcycles and 300 cars.
Later, in March, the civic body invited expressions of interest from qualified firms for the development of the parking plaza. It was informed in March that the civic body would award a PKR 10.33 million contract for two years.
