Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has intensified enforcement against illegal housing schemes following directives from Commissioner Rawalpindi and RDA Director General Engr. Aamer Khattak.
The authority’s Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering (MP&TE) Directorate has been tasked with taking strict action against developers, sponsors, and owners of unauthorised projects across Rawalpindi, Taxila, Gujar Khan, Kallar Syedan, and Kahuta.
RDA officials said multiple violations of the Punjab Development Authorities Private Housing Schemes Rules, 2021 were detected, including unapproved launches, unauthorised development, non-submission of required documentation, and major deviations from approved layouts. These were identified through inspections, public complaints, and monitoring of advertisements in print, electronic, and social media.

Enforcement measures include issuing notices, registering FIRs, sealing offices and project sites, demolishing illegal structures, banning property transactions, and referring cases to the Federal Investigation Agency’s Cyber Crime Wing.
The authority also warned the public, including overseas investors, to avoid unapproved schemes and verify project approval with RDA before any transactions. Terms like “file submitted” or “under process” do not constitute official approval, the RDA clarified. Citizens are advised to consult the official RDA website for verification and updates.
