Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has been instructed to conduct a comprehensive survey of buildings constructed without proper approvals across its jurisdiction. The directive comes from Director General Kinza Murtaza as part of ongoing efforts to enforce urban planning regulations and regularize unauthorized structures.
The survey will include properties requiring commercialization fees, complementary maps, and other documentation, with the goal of identifying and initiating the regularization of all illegal constructions. Officials said the move is intended to ensure compliance with the Punjab Development of Cities Act 1976 and the RDA Building and Zoning Regulations 2021.

DG RDA Kinza Murtaza emphasized the importance of planned urban development, urging citizens to cooperate with the authority and remove encroachments voluntarily to avoid legal and financial consequences. The Building Control Wing has been tasked with completing the survey and reporting findings for further action.
This initiative is part of a broader crackdown by the RDA, which has recently demolished unauthorized structures and taken action against illegal commercial activity along Defence Road and within the Atomic Energy Housing Scheme. Enforcement teams continue to monitor and act against violations to ensure orderly urban development in Rawalpindi.
