Islamabad: A comprehensive report on Daimer-Bhasha and Mohmand Dams, was presented to the Chief Justice Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar, according to a news report. This report was presented by Implementation Committee of Diamer-Bhasha and Mohmand Dams/ Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda) Chairman Lt-Gen (rtd) Muzammil Hussain.
These projects have a cumulative gross water storage capacity of 9.3 million acre feet (maf) and power generation capacity of 5,300 megawatts. The presented report gives details on the construction costs, recommendations to overcome any hurdles, and the general strategy for the proper initiation of these dam projects. This includes land acquisition, native community resettlement, development projects in the area, financing, and security.
