Karachi: The Sindh Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) has approved seven new development schemes worth a total of PKR 8.9 billion, including a major road infrastructure project in Larkano valued at PKR 5 billion. The approvals were granted during a PDWP meeting chaired by Planning and Development Board Chairman Najam Ahmed Shah.
Among the approved projects, one falls under the Planning and Development Department – the Sindh Multiple Indicators Cluster Survey (SMICS) – with an allocated budget of PKR 251 million. The remaining six schemes pertain to the Works and Services Department, focusing largely on road rehabilitation and new construction to improve regional connectivity.
Key highlights include the construction of an additional 21.6-kilometre carriageway from Larkano’s Professor Colony to Kamber via Beero Chandio, estimated at PKR 5 billion – the most significant investment among the approved projects.
