Karachi: The Sindh government has decided to expedite measures to resolve long-standing grievances of genuine land allottees, tackle illegal encroachments and provide timely relief to affected citizens.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the Provincial Cabinet’s Land Committee chaired by Sindh Local Government Minister Nasir Hussain Shah. The meeting reviewed complaints related to land allotments, encroachments and pending cases involving the province’s land development authorities.
Shah directed relevant departments to prepare a comprehensive and final list of affected allottees to ensure their cases are resolved transparently and on merit. He also called for prompt disposal of public complaints and warned against unnecessary delays in addressing such matters.
The minister said the government would seek assistance from police and other law enforcement agencies to vacate illegally occupied plots belonging to genuine allottees and restore them to their rightful owners.
He said a number of plots and government land under the Malir, Lyari and Karachi development authorities had already been recovered from land grabbers, while anti-encroachment operations would continue.
Shah reiterated that the government would take steps to protect the legitimate rights of allottees and safeguard public property, adding that affected citizens should first approach the relevant development authorities to seek resolution of their complaints.
