Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) has intensified its anti-smog operations across the city to mitigate the adverse effects of rising air pollution. Under the supervision of CEO Babar Sahib Din, the daily water sprinkling schedule at key city entrances and exits has been ramped up, alongside accelerated roadside scraping and mechanical sweeping.
Mechanical sweeping and scraping are currently underway on major thoroughfares, including Mall Road, Jail Road, Gulberg, Ferozepur Road, Canal Road, Shimla Pahari, Press Club, Egerton Road, Kashmir Road, and Queen Mary Road. In areas with higher Air Quality Index (AQI) readings, intermittent water sprinkling is being carried out to reduce dust and particulate matter.
