Islamabad: The Gwadar Development Authority (GDA) has announced four major tourism projects under the Gwadar Smart Port City Master Plan, aimed at developing the city into a modern tourism hub and boosting local economic activity.
According to officials, the planned projects include a Food Street, an Amusement Theme Park, Water Sports facilities, and a GDA Club Complex. These initiatives will be implemented through public-private partnerships (PPP) to attract investment and encourage private sector participation.
The West Bay area has been designated for recreational and commercial activities due to its scenic coastal location. Investors will be facilitated through land provision, long-term arrangements, and fast-track approvals under a single-window system.

Officials said the projects are expected to create employment opportunities, promote local culture and heritage, and offer new recreational and leisure options for domestic and international tourists. The Food Street will provide diverse dining experiences while supporting livelihoods for local vendors, whereas the amusement park will feature rides, themed attractions, and entertainment activities designed to engage visitors.
The water sports initiative aims to leverage Gwadar’s coastline and promote marine tourism, while the GDA Club Complex will include gyms, swimming pools, and other leisure facilities.
According to GDA representatives, these projects are part of a broader effort to establish a sustainable tourism economy in Gwadar, integrating local culture, history, and marine resources to attract visitors and strengthen the city’s position as a regional tourism destination.
