Minister Yasin highlighted that the initiative has set new benchmarks in service delivery and efficiency. Under the programme, 2,000 families have already been awarded free plots, and ownership rights for deserving beneficiaries are expected to be granted by the Chief Minister after Eid-ul-Fitr.
In 2024, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif announced an ambitious plan to construct 100,000 homes for low-income citizens. During a recent meeting in Lahore, she directed officials to formulate a detailed implementation strategy, which includes building over 3,000 houses in each district of the province for low-income families.
The progress of the Apni Chat, Apna Ghar programme reflects the provincial government’s ongoing focus on affordable housing and improving living standards for underprivileged citizens across Punjab.
