Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman and Islamabad Chief Commissioner, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, on Tuesday met with a delegation from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) at the CDA Headquarters to review progress on the Islamabad Inter-City Bus Terminal project.
The meeting was attended by CDA Board Member Engineering Syed Nafasat Raza, Member Finance Tahir Naeem, Director General Resource, and other senior officials.
ADB consultants briefed participants on ongoing and proposed initiatives, including the Inter-City Bus Terminal. They confirmed that the initial feasibility report for the project has been completed and that an optimal financial model is being developed. The terminal will be integrated with Islamabad’s Metro Bus and Electric Feeder Bus services and will feature modern electric vehicle charging stations to support sustainable transport.

The delegation also shared updates on the preparation of the Islamabad Transport Master Plan, for which ADB is providing technical assistance.
Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa highlighted the importance of environmentally friendly infrastructure and urged ADB to provide technical support for securing carbon credits for green projects. He emphasized that the Inter-City Bus Terminal would play a key role in easing traffic congestion on the capital’s highways and in providing residents with modern and efficient transport facilities.
The meeting reaffirmed CDA and ADB’s commitment to leveraging technical expertise and resources to advance Islamabad’s sustainable transport infrastructure.
