Islamabad: Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan on Thursday performed the groundbreaking of Naya Pakistan Housing Programme (NPHP) apartments in Alipur Farash Town, according to news sources.
These apartments in Alipur Farash Town are expected to be completed within the next two years. While addressing the groundbreaking ceremony, the prime minister acknowledged the problems being faced by the public in getting loans from the commercial banks for construction or purchases of houses.
He said that people face obstacles when approaching banks for getting small loans. He revealed that the government is in talks with the banks to simplify the process. The prime minister also spoke about working to automating the construction and layout plans’ approvals to facilitate the developers and public.
Moreover, Mr Khan lauded the Frontier Works Organisation’s (FWO) work on the housing project. He expressed hope that with the boost in the housing sector (and related 30 industries) the tax collection and wealth creation in the country will increase and will ease the loan burden on Pakistan.
