Lahore: The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has commenced with the horticulture work in its flagship LDA Avenue-1 housing project, a news source reported. To this effect, an LDA official has stated that the civic agency has provided its approval for initiating the development of green areas in the scheme.
According to the official, the Parks & Horticulture Authority (PHA) has also requested the provision of funds required for commencing with the development of green areas in the housing scheme. LDA will release these funds from the amount reserved for the purpose after fulfilling departmental formalities.
The civic agency recently settled the long-standing dispute of LDA Avenue-1 and handed over possessions of over 2,000 plots to the allottees in the housing scheme. The city developer had initially launched the project in 2002 exclusively for government servants of all ranks. The current project plan features 10-marla and 1-kanal plots.
The civic agency had decided to resolve the disputes via negotiations with the private housing schemes, which had expressed claims on the project’s land. LDA offered them 30% exemption for plots in LDA Avenue-1 for the land they had provided to the authority.
