Karachi: The Karachi Development Authority (KDA) is set to launch several low-cost housing projects for the society’s middle and lower-middle income segments, a news source quoted KDA Director General (DG) Dr Badar Jameel as saying. The approval of this initiative by KDA’s governing body will help the civic agency in its revenue-generation efforts, he added.
Further, he announced that a committee had been formed to manage the operations of the auction process planned for the KDA properties. The chairman mentioned that the Sindh government’s support was vital to pulling the development authority out of its existing financial crisis. He expressed the hope that Minister for Local Government Nasir Hussain Shah would play his part on this front.
In terms of attaining financial stability, the body formed to oversee the property auction process will submit its report after conducting its survey, he added. Previously, the DG had ordered the formation of this committee in September.
