Peshawar: The coordinator of the Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) has urged the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government to waive the property tax in industrial estates in the province, according to news published on September 3.
During a meeting held with Small Industries Development Board (SIDB) managing director (MD) and deputy managing director, the government was requested to exempt the property tax in the industrial estates of Kohat and Peshawar, just like the exemption of property tax in the economic zone.
As per the details, the small and domestic industries play a vital role in the development of the country. It was mentioned that the Small & Medium Entrepreneurs (SMEs) in the country need to be supported and promoted. The SIDB MD assured the attendees that he would take this issue up with the KP government. Moreover, the meeting attendees also discussed the Chitral Economic Zone and setting up another industrial zone in Upper Chitral.
