Officials said the plan is designed to protect public land from land grabbing and illegal encroachments, while also creating sustainable revenue streams through commercial development. The initiative also aims to ensure more efficient use of land within existing housing schemes.
Commissioner Khattak directed that all available measures be taken to convert unused land into productive assets. He instructed RDA to provide full support for the implementation of the plan and to prioritise the preparation of project designs for construction on vacant spaces.
He further emphasised that planning and execution should be carried out on a priority basis to ensure timely development of the proposed markets and plazas.
