Lahore: In a high-level meeting chaired by Lahore Division Commissioner Asif Bilal Lodhi (Lahore Metropolitan Corporation Administrator), it was decided that an agreement would be signed with the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) to install LED lights on 25 important road avenues, a news source reported.
Before the decision on this agreement was finalised, PITB Director General (DG) Faisal Yousaf gave a briefing to the meeting members on current situation of streetlights in Lahore. The DG Yousaf also shared the PITB will manage and maintain the functions of new LED lights on identified 25 major road avenues.
The PITB DG explained the board’s plan on how an especially designed application will help find out which streetlights aren’t functional. After receiving the briefing, the commissioner directed the PITB to arrange for electronic workshops.
Later, the commissioner visited Data Darbar and inspected the facilities made available for people staying in the shelter homes. He directed the staff concerned to install the ceiling fans immediately.
