Additionally, the CM has assigned the project’s supervision to Head of Strategic Support Unit (SSU) Sahibzada Saeed–specifically to guarantee double shifts. He has also called for ensuring payments to contractors, and resolving any problems faced by them.
In a meeting chaired by him, the CM was briefed about the progress of the BRT project and its expected completion date. He directed the contractors to not compromise on the fronts of construction quality and timely completion, and to guarantee speedy work along with meeting the required development standards.
The CM stated that the resolution of traffic problems and provision of better transport facilities in Peshawar is one of the government’s top priorities. The officials concerned briefed the meeting regarding all the three reaches of the BRT project, including construction of feed routes, bus stations, and depots.
Furthermore, CM Mahmood Khan said that all the authorities involved in the project should maintain coordination for accelerating construction work. He urged them to take more focused steps for completing the drainage system, and maintaining smooth traffic flows.
