Quetta: The Quetta Metropolitan Corporation (QMC) has launched its grand operation against encroachments, reported a news source. The corporation has advised shop owners to remove encroachments on their own, or pay heavy charges in terms of fines.
In its recent operation, the QMC cleared Jinnah Road of encroachments. Sources within the corporation have revealed that the operation will be extended to Sharah-e-Iqbal, Masjid Road, Prince Road, Suryab Road, Sarki Road, and Satellite Town.
On the first day of the operation, the QMC staff removed illegal stalls and other encroachments on Jinnah Road and its adjoining streets. The team also imposed fines on some vendors. QMC Encroachment Cell in-charge Aslam Baloch and Magistrate Manzoor Ahmed supervised this operation.
Baloch said that the operation will later be expanded to the entire city.
