Murree: Authorities have launched Mission Safe Winter ahead of a predicted spell of snowfall in Murree and nearby hill stations in the Galliyat region, expected from January 17 to January 22.
The multi-day snow forecast has prompted the district administration and police to place all personnel on high alert, with additional staff deployed to manage potential emergencies and ensure tourist safety. Senior officers will remain in the field, while a real-time monitoring system using Safe City cameras has been activated to track conditions on sensitive roads.

Police have strengthened patrolling along steep and landslide-prone areas. Tourists have been advised to avoid unnecessary travel, particularly during heavy snowfall and at night. In case a vehicle becomes stranded, authorities suggest leaving a window slightly open for ventilation and calling emergency services at 15 immediately.
Officials warned that snow could cause road blockages and disruptions to routine travel, and urged visitors to follow safety guidelines to prevent accidents. Mission Safe Winter aims to ensure smooth traffic management, rapid response to emergencies, and overall protection for residents and tourists during the snowfall period.
