Lahore: Virgin Atlantic, an international airline service, on Thursday announced that it would begin operating direct flights between the UK and Pakistan from December onwards, a news source reported. In this regard, the airline’s Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) JuhaJarvinen expressed his excitement on the new initiative.
The CCO stated that both Lahore and Islamabad were popular year-round destinations. He added that the airline management looked forward to welcoming passengers on board since demand for both business and leisure travel to the region had increased.
JuhaJarvinen said that using the airline’s transatlantic services, customers would have access to the shortest journey to and from destinations in the US by connecting via London Heathrow. He added that tickets for the flights between UK and Pakistan would go on sale from September.
As per sources, in addition to flying customers, Virgin Atlantic will also offer a fast and efficient cargo service. They added that this facility would present new opportunities for companies seeking to import and export goods between the UK, the US, and Pakistan.
