ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Tuesday urged the city dwellers to cooperate with the authority’s initiatives of keeping the city clean, according to a news report. CDA Chairman Amer Ali Ahmed made the appeal, while addressing the media, after inspecting the cleanliness situation of the metropolis.
The authority’s chairman acknowledged that keeping the city clean was the responsibility of the authority – but is not possible without support from the residents in this regard. Elaborating on the citizens’ role, Ahmed said that it was very important to refrain from dumping garbage in the open, in markets and in front of houses.
Moreover, the chairman went on to say that the proper disposal of waste should be done in the garbage bins placed across the city. Islamabad is one of the most beautiful cities in the world, Ahmed said, adding that the CDA would take all the necessary steps to enhance its beauty. The chairman further urged the sanitation officers and workers to effectively carry out their work, and warned of dire consequences if compromise was made on keeping Islamabad clean.
