Karachi: Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan has approved a 13-member committee that has been tasked with the responsibility to steer, monitor and support all projects being launched under the auspices of the ‘Kamyab Jawan Programme’, according to news sources.
The committee will operate under the leadership of the PM, and its members will include federal ministers, along with the PM’s advisers for youth affairs, trade and finance.
The Kamyab Jawan Programme was launched by the PM in early October. Its main aim is to facilitate the youth of the nation by providing them with loans that have easy return policies. Under this scheme, young men and women, particularly from the marginalised and minority communities of Pakistan, will be provided with the business knowledge and skill development training they need to set-up successful businesses.
The government has allocated a sum of PKR 100 billion for this initiative and is expected to provide assistance to one million young people within the country.
To date, there have been six initiatives announced under the Kamyab Jawan campaign, including the Skill for All Programme, Youth Entrepreneurship Scheme, Green Youth Movement, Internship Programme, Startup Pakistan Programme and Jawan Markaz.
