Faisalabad: The Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) recently approved the development of a 40-kilometre long expressway project that will link the city’s Satiana Road with the Karachi-Lahore Motorway (KLM), a news source reported. The development authority is expected to recommend the mega project to the Punjab government for inclusion in the Annual Development Programme for the next financial year.
FDA Director-General Muhammad Suhail Khawaja briefed a special meeting which discussed the agenda points for the next FDA governing body meeting. Member of National Assembly (MPA) Mian Waris Aziz chaired the meeting, which was held at the FDA committee room. Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) Vice-Chairman (VC) Shahid Javed, MPA Adil Parvez, FDA Additional Director-General (ADG) Amer Aziz, Chief Engineer Shahid Mehmood, and other senior officials were also present on the occasion.
During the meeting, the attendees were further informed that the Kashmir Bridge underpass project would be completed by the end of June, if the Punjab government provided the remaining PKR 150 million funds required for the purpose. The MPAs assured the meeting that they would take up the issue of releasing the remaining funds before the Punjab Chief Minister so that the public welfare project could be finished in a timely manner.
