Islamabad: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has launched the updated version of its ‘Tax Asaan’ app which allows both salaried and non-salaried individuals to file their tax returns – a news source reported.
Previously, the taxation authority had operationalised the application on September 16. But, the previous version only allowed salaried individuals to file their tax returns. The updated version now allows non-salaried individuals to file their returns as well.
FBR Member Policy Dr Hamid Ateeq Sarwar presented the updated version of the app during a meeting of the Senate Standing Committee on Finance and Revenue.
Later at a media briefing, Dr Sarwar said that within 24 days of its launch, the mobile app created to facilitate the tax submissions process has received 50,000 salary returns. Moreover, this service has registered thousands of downloads since its launch; indicating its success.
The users can download it for free from both Google and Apple’s application stores. The app allows users to register on tax roll and they can also create a new wealth statement.
