Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture & Tourism Authority (KP-C&TA) has invited bids for the lease and operationalization of nine government camping pod sites for a duration of 10 years — with the initiative falling under the auspices of the ‘The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Govt Rest Houses and Tourism Properties (Development, Management and Regularization) Act 2020’, according to a post published on the authority’s official Facebook page on September 2.
These camping pods are being leased out on an ‘AS IS WHERE IS’ basis to various reputed firms and private corporations that wish to operate and make these camping pods available to the general public — under the conditions highlighted in the bidding documents.
Reportedly, the eligible firms are required to be registered on the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR)’s Active Taxpayers List, and to be in possession of a Security Exchange Commission Pakistan (SECP) certification where applicable. The bidding for the government camping pods is expected to be conducted through the Single Stage-Two Envelope procedure.
Additionally, interested firms have been requested to submit complete bidding documents to the KP-C&TA Director General’s office before 02:30 pm on September 24. The authority’s subcommittee shall open the technical bids on the same day, in the presence of bidders that choose to attend the proceedings at 3 pm in the Tourism Department’s Conference Hall.
The bidding documents can be obtained through the director general’s office, or from the following websites till September 24 (for a non-refundable fee of PKR 5,000): www.kptourism.com and www.kpra.gov.pk
