Lahore: Punjab Minister for Housing and Urban Development Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed has directed the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) to complete the process required for allotment of plots in LDA City Phase I before the Supreme Court-issued deadline expires in September, a news source reported.
Earlier in January this year, the apex court gave an eight-month deadline to LDA to allot plots to the 9,000 LDA City file owners.
To discuss the project development, Rasheed presided over a high-level meeting on July 3. LDA Director General Muhammad Usman Moazzam, Additional Director Urban Planning Rana Tikka Khan, officials from National Accountability Bureau and representatives of the LDA City development partners including Pak Estate, Urban Developers, Alpha Estate and Maymar Services attended this meeting.
Addressing the meeting, Minister Rasheed said that the LDA should use all the resources to finish the project before the deadline expires in September. The LDA officials shared the latest details on the land acquisition status with the meeting members. LDA DG Moazzam also affirmed that the land required for the project will be purchased as soon as possible.
