Quetta: The Balochistan National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has compensated the victims of a fraudulent and illegal housing scheme in Quetta, according to a news report. Balochistan NAB Director Farmanullah Khan distributed cheques among the affectees for this purpose.
Reportedly, the accountability body discovered that the owner of this scheme had established it in a fraudulent manner – cheating the general public. This resulted in numerous people losing their investments that the owner refused to return. The bureau collected ample evidence against the accused and filed a reference in the accountability court for legal action.
The NAB has been diligently acting against illegal developments across the country, in response to complaints by defrauded members of the general public. The bureau’s resolve to tackle corruption and fraudulent practices remains unabated, despite the prevailing COVID-19 pandemic situation. This is because numerous societies still continue to cheat people.
Furthermore, the bureau recently set up an open court in Karachi against cooperative housing societies. It also investigated various housing societies located in Islamabad and Lahore.
