Islamabad: The Senate was informed on Wednesday that the PKR 10 billion Park Road infrastructure project is proceeding without delays, with construction moving according to the planned schedule.
Minister of State for Interior Muhammad Talal Chaudhry told the upper house that work on the project began in March and is advancing on track. Responding to a calling attention notice regarding the Park Road underpass project, he confirmed that no delays have been reported so far.
He said the first phase of the project, which includes the underpass component, is expected to be completed in July. The remaining development work, including overhead infrastructure, service roads and allied improvements, is scheduled for completion in August.

The project is being executed in collaboration with the Defence Housing Authority (DHA) and the Frontier Works Organisation (FWO), which are also overseeing its financing.
According to the minister, the development is aimed at improving connectivity between Park Road, Margalla Avenue and surrounding sectors of Islamabad, helping to ease traffic congestion and improve overall mobility for residents of both older and newly developed areas.
He acknowledged that commuters have faced temporary inconvenience during the construction phase but said the project is expected to significantly reduce travel time, traffic pressure and fuel consumption once completed.
Talal Chaudhry added that environmental impact assessments were conducted prior to the start of work, and steps are being taken to minimize effects on green areas. He said the project is among the key ongoing infrastructure developments in the federal capital.
