Rawalpindi: Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) has begun working on a plan to restore Rawalpindi’s beauty, a news source reported. In a related development, the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) also launched a project called ‘My Rawalpindi’.
PHA plans to open recently developed public parks and playgrounds on Rawal Road and Dhok Munshi to the public. The authority will also work with National College of Arts (NCA) to restore historical buildings within the city.
These decisions were taken in a meeting presided over by PHA Rawalpindi Director General Umar Jahangir. The attendees were briefed that all the shops on Murree Road have been instructed to position their boards in the same manner. This will help improve the charm of the city’s oldest and most historically-acclaimed road.
Meanwhile, RCCI President Malik Shahid Saleem, during an RCCI session, expressed his determination to make the city more beautiful. He said that plans would be made to increase tourism in the city. Historical buildings will also be restored.
