Patriata: The Punjab Tourism Department has launched new initiatives to promote women’s participation in adventure and eco-tourism activities across the province, reaffirming its commitment to inclusive and responsible tourism.
Speaking at the Two-Day Female Bikers Camping Gala held at Patriata (New Murree) on Sunday, Secretary Tourism, Archaeology & Museums Dr Ehsan Bhutta said that women’s active involvement in tourism and adventure sports plays a vital role in strengthening Pakistan’s global image.
The event, organised by the Tourism Development Corporation of Punjab (TDCP), featured a variety of activities, including camping, guided biking trails, safety workshops, and sessions on eco-tourism and sustainable travel practices.
Dr Bhutta said the Punjab Tourism Department is implementing a comprehensive strategy to promote inclusive, eco-friendly, and adventure-based tourism, adding that initiatives like the Female Bikers Gala demonstrate the government’s commitment to gender inclusivity and environmental conservation.

“This event celebrates the courage and determination of our women while showcasing Punjab’s progressive vision for equal participation in all sectors of national life,” he said. He also highlighted the growing role of digital influencers and travel content creators in promoting Punjab’s scenic destinations to global audiences through modern media platforms.
Participants from various districts of Punjab, as well as social media influencers and travel bloggers from Gilgit-Baltistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, took part in the event—reflecting the spirit of national unity and interprovincial collaboration in promoting Pakistan’s adventure tourism potential.
Managing Director TDCP Asim Raza said the initiative reflects the corporation’s forward-looking approach to providing safe and inclusive opportunities for women to explore and excel in adventure tourism.
Dr Bhutta reiterated that the Punjab Tourism Department remains committed to developing a vibrant, responsible, and inclusive tourism ecosystem that empowers communities, preserves heritage, and promotes a positive image of Pakistan globally.
