Quetta: The Balochistan Investment Board and Trade on Monday discussed a proposal to establish solar panel manufacturing plants in Lasbela Industrial Estate, Hub, to begin local production of solar panel sheets.
The meeting, chaired by Board Chairman Bilal Khan Kakar, reviewed the plan in detail and agreed that an initial report would soon be prepared for submission to the provincial government for approval.

The session also took up the possible utilisation of Low BTU gas in Sui and Kalat for energy projects.
Mr. Kakar said the provincial government was committed to promoting sustainable energy initiatives through investment-friendly policies. He highlighted that more than 250 active industrial units in the Lasbela Industrial Estates Development Authority (LIEDA) already give investors a strong competitive edge, which could be further expanded under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model.
