Islamabad: The Standing Committee of the National Assembly on Housing and Works on Monday constituted a sub-committee to examine delays in housing projects of the Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA), following concerns over prolonged timelines and unresolved administrative issues.
The committee met at the Parliament Lodges under the chairmanship of Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri, MNA, where it reviewed the implementation status of recommendations from its previous meeting held on November 24, 2025, according to an official press release.
During the meeting, the committee discussed delays affecting multiple FGEHA projects, including Skyline, Kashmir Avenue Apartments, G-13 Apartments, Green Enclave-I and II, G-14/1, G-15/3, and Sectors F-14 and F-15. The Director General of FGEHA briefed members on the progress of these schemes. Separately, the Chief Executive Officer of the Pakistan Housing Authority (PHA) presented updates on infrastructure development and completion status in Sectors I-12/1 and I-16.
To improve coordination and project execution, the committee directed the FGEHA management to hold a joint meeting with the Capital Development Authority (CDA), PHA, and the Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI). The objective is to enhance planning, clarify institutional responsibilities, and address service-related matters, including sanitation and cleanliness.

The committee also reviewed the draft Accommodation Allocation Rules (AAR), 2002, and related standard operating procedures. It noted concerns regarding government employees who were previously allotted residences in Quetta, Karachi, and Peshawar and later transferred to Islamabad. The Ministry of Housing and Works was asked to revisit the policy to ensure transparency and equitable treatment of eligible applicants.
To examine pending issues such as land payments, compensation for built-up properties, balloting, and project delays, the committee formed a sub-committee under the convenorship of Mr Ibrar Ahmad, MNA, with Mr Anjum Aqeel Khan, MNA, and Dr Darshan, MNA, as members.
The meeting was attended by committee members and senior officials from the Ministry of Housing and Works and its attached departments.
