Quetta: A water emergency was declared in Quetta by Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan Aliyani due to the lack of potable water in the city, according to a news source. He declared this water emergency while chairing a meeting regarding the water shortage in Quetta. He stated that the public was suffering due to this issue and it needs to be strongly recognised and dealt with. In addition, he focussed on the need to ease the population’s suffering.
He urged all departments to use their resources for the resolution of this crisis. He specifically directed the Public Health and Engineering (PHE) department and Water and Sanitation Authority (WASA) to take relevant measures.
