Lahore: The Punjab Excise and Taxation Department has announced a 5% discount on property tax across the province for the fiscal year 2025–26. The incentive is available to taxpayers who clear their dues by August 31, 2025.
In addition to the property tax relief, the department is also offering a 10% discount on vehicle token tax, aiming to encourage early payments and reduce the burden on taxpayers.
Officials have urged property and vehicle owners to take full advantage of the limited-time offer. Rawalpindi Division’s Excise and Taxation Director, Imran Aslam, stated that the process of distributing PT-5 challans for property tax is already underway. These challans are being delivered to taxpayers’ registered addresses.
For those who do not receive their challan due to any reason, duplicates can be obtained from the nearest excise office. A facilitation desk has also been set up at the Rawalpindi excise office to assist individuals unfamiliar with digital tax payment systems. Through this desk, citizens can generate PSIDPs (Payment Slip IDs) required for online payments.

Those comfortable with digital tools can generate their own PSIDP and pay their property or vehicle taxes directly from their mobile phones or computers via online banking platforms.
According to the prevailing District Collector (DC) rate, no property tax is applicable on properties valued up to PKR 5 million. However, officials have warned that failure to pay property tax by the August 31 deadline will result in a surcharge, and enforcement measures will begin shortly after.
These measures include sealing properties of defaulters and impounding vehicles of those who fail to pay token tax within the due date.
The department has called on all eligible taxpayers to benefit from the discounts and avoid penalties by ensuring timely payment.
